for those that are unaware, life lomographic is an unreleased song by glass animals.

during the chorus, there is a part that is usually read as "to you a cup of sorrow".

however, i never heard it as such, and i don't think those are the actual lyrics. for one thing, it sounds like there's an "nn" sound in there, somewhere between the "to" and "you". i also think "cup of" could be "couple".

There's some Glass Animals songs that I've never really vibed with that much, but for some of them, I've gotten into them and I like them a lot now.

Two of these from HTBAHB would have been Cane Shuga and Poplar St. I liked the general sound of them, but they didn't stick out to me at all. Cane Shuga was a bit repetitive to me, and I honestly had no idea what the lyrics meant (Dave could've been singing another language for all I knew), but it grew on me after a while. For Poplar St., I was never really apprehensive to it, but I forgot it existed a lot. I liked the first few lyrics, and didn't really pay attention to them afterwards, so it was easy for me to put the song off as nothing special. However, I recently actually listened to the lyrics and... yeah, that was quite a revelation. I feel like realising what the subject matter actually is should make me like it less, but I love Agnes despite its similarly dark meaning, so I don't think that'd be fair. It's a good song too, I like the bendy noises.

As for Dreamland, I honestly had to force myself to enjoy the album a bit after listening to the luscious sounds of ZABA (not a single song I dislike on there) and HTBAHB. The most notable song from here which I changed my opinion on is definitely Helium. It's at the end of the track list, so my brain was usually a bit mushed when I listened to it, and it didn't stick out to me either. However, I just listened to it, like, fifteen minutes ago (totally didn't inspire me to write this, lmao), and I don't know if it's my exhausted mind or general mood right now that made me get butterflies while listening to it, but I love it now. It's so peaceful and sentimental.

I could mention I Can't Make You Fall in Love Again of Creatures in Heaven for ILYSFM, as those are the ones I was initially the least keen on, but like now, but I honestly liked them pretty well from out the gate, so I don't think they count.

Anyways, that was a stupidly long ramble birthed by procrastination. Let me know what you think, and which songs you changed your opinion on!

for those of you who were not expectantly staring at your screens in the middle of the night/early morning, awaiting the album's release on spotify, the album is officially out. very very exciting.

glass animals have not only released the album, but also some 'weird merch'. a toilet seat (which someone actually bought?!), keychains with dave's chewed gum inside, and several other things. i assume for shits and giggles.

express your opinions here, or make a new thread. do whatever you want, this wiki's mostly dead right now, so it doesn't really matter. no matter how many people come, it will still likely be very easy for me to moderate this wiki on my own.

listen to the album on spotify, apple music, youtube, cassette tape, or wherever you get your music from.

glass animals have announced that they are doing a series of record store listening parties for their new album. these are mostly located in the states, but they also have several in other countries. most of these will be on sunday, july 14, although some will be in the days after that.

for some of these, the record stores may require tickets. please contact the venue you'd like to visit if they require tickets.

there is also a chance that you might meet one or more of the band members if you go to a listening party--the band have stated that they might drop by a couple of these listening parties. even if they don't drop by yours, this is still a fantastic opportunity to meet other glass animals fans in your area.

if you visit one, you'll also get some free stuff (what kind of free stuff, well, that's unknown at this time). really, nothing but pros. unless you have something to do on that day.

in honour of glass animals' newest album, we've completed our wiki theme update to match the album art. the dark theme features a dark green article background, light green highlights, and the space background from the band's official website. the light theme features a pale green background and pale green highlights, with that same space background, giving it a higher contrast than the dark theme.

if there's any updates or extra features you'd like to be made to the theme, please let me know!

glass animals have now officially announced their new album's release date, along with the track list. this morning at 8am pst, they released the first single from their new album: creatures in heaven. they have released a visualiser and lyric video for the song in addition to the spotify release. they also have some vinyls, cds, and t-shirts for sale on their website.

the album will be called "i love you so f***ing much."

I’ve only really started listening to Glass Animals this week, but I really like their music. Anyways, “Toes” inspired me to do some artwork. Here it is:

I put the lyrics from the chorus all over, and drew several pictures of a humanoid figure. I really found the twisted parts pretty interesting — it reminds me of Egon Schiele a bit. The wide grin that the creature has was partially a reference to the line “got toes and I can smile”, but was also me trying to empathise that this is something not human trying hard to be one; mimicking our behaviour but having it turn out differently — an “uncanny valley” of sorts. The antlers are from a different song, but I thought they’d look good, so I added them. Personally, my favourite drawing would be the one at the very bottom, where the figure is seemingly doing finger guns or generally gesturing, merely because I find it slightly amusing.

in the 2023 spotify wrapped, for all the top listeners of glass animals, dave made a little video. that video stated quite clearly that there is going to be something new coming next year. a new album? possibly. even if it's a single, that will be new music!

what dave said, word for word, that implies the existence of new music:

hopefully, we'll be getting some new music in the next few months.

We have received full administrator and bureaucrat rights now. Hopefully, this wiki will be able to grow even further. We still need to create a new theme and background, so we will be working on that for the next few days. We also need new pages for Drew's music.
